Heat to harvest (H2H) - Effect of cool roofs on activity and relation to harvest yields
Background:
- The H2H study is nested in the P4 and P5 study
- The 210 participants are small subsistence farmers
- Harvest is affected by climate (rainfall, temperature, humidity)
- 105 participants are exposed to the cool roof intervention and 105 are control households
Research objectives:

Methods:
GPS Tracking Study:
- Using GPS devices we measure farmers’ speed, distance and route of movement
- We will ascertain periods of high and low activity including productivity in the field.
Harvest Tonnage Study:
- Using GPS coordinates we track harvest yield
- We will measure and predict the outcome of the harvest
